About Dr. Roderick Chua
Dr Chua is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. He is a member of the Heart Valve Team at the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside. He is the medical liaison for the Cardiac Rehabilitation programme at St Vincent’s.
Dr Chua graduated from the University of Sydney and completed his basic physician’s training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He became a fellow to the Heart/Lung Transplant Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney in 2003 and was involved closely with the management of end-stage heart failure patients, transplantation medicine and post-cardiac transplant care. He completed his interventional fellowship at the very busy cardiology unit of the Westmead Hospital, Sydney in 2004.
Dr Chua performs a full range of coronary interventional procedures and has a special interest in CT coronary angiographyHis coronary interventions are mostly done via radial artery access. He regularly reports on CTCA studies performed at Lumus Radiology, St Vincent’s Northside. He personally supervises both Exercise and Dobutamine stress Echocardiography examinations in his rooms at Queensland Cardiology.
He has admitting and procedural rights at the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside, Chermside and the St Andrew’s War Memorial hospital, Spring Hill. He is regularly on-call for general cardiology admissions and for the primary angioplasty and acute chest pain services at both hospitals.
He consults regularly at the offices of Queensland Cardiology, St Vincent’s Northside Medical Centre, the North Lakes Specialist Medical Centre, North Lakes and at Northside Cardiology Care, Peninsula Private Specialists Centre, Kippa Ring.
He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
